What does "Melissani" mean?
What does "Melissani" mean?
Our name comes from the Melissani cave in the Greek island of Kefalonia. People who visit the Melissani cave get blown away by its stunning beauty and serenity they experience there. They also learn how the cave was formed and is sustained today. Yet, the cave is not a famous attraction in Greece, and it is considered a "hidden gem". We aim our students and partners to have formative experiences that will feel similar to visiting the Melissani cave.

Melissani Foundation is a nonprofit organization incorporated in Arizona, United States. Melissani Foundation specializes in designing and executing international programs focusing in Greece as a program destination. Program offering includes short-term faculty-leds, internships, semester- long, and non-formal education programs. Our partners include distinguished professors, universities, governments, businesses, and travel agents.
